Harm Reduction Services

Access harm reduction equipment, health education, and referrals to minimize the associated risk. Needle exchange and needle drop box on site. Harm reduction vending machine on site operates by tokens. For tokens, see Intake Counsellor during walk-in hours Monday to Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. or by appointment by calling 613-722-4000 ext. 260. Our intake counsellor works closely with peer harm reduction workers in the community to address the needs of individuals living with addictions.

The Drug Overdose and Prevention Education (DOPE) team of harm reduction workers provides outreach services to support harm reduction services to people who use drugs in the Carlington catchment area.  Harm reduction services focus on increasing access to health promotion, prevention, treatment and harm reduction programs and services among high-risk people who use drugs. The team also assists with referrals to Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) programs and supervised consumption services. Individuals can also access supplies through our Intake counsellor or our harm reduction dispensing unit located at front entrance of the building.  Token are available from the Intake counsellor or front reception.
